Muradin doesn’t die? Will this affect the lore? Is he REALLY alive? Hmm, on top of this, Muradin doesn’t remember who he is, wait a second. They never confirmed Muradin WAS killed when the ice block hit Muradin, so this is probably real!! Muradin Bronzebeard lives!!! lol
I’ve found the sound files for this encounter within the Litch King install. They are the same files from WC3:FT, with the same names even.

I’ve heard of retcons, but this is fucking RIDICULOUS.

I could see it transpire like this, if the price Arthas had to pay was instead something in himself, rather than killing Muradin. However I don’t exactly remember that passage 100%. Also I think we need to see the whole thing rather than these pictures pieced together.
Hmmm….intresting….where did this happen exactly? Caverns of time? but if its Caverns of time will there be more dungeon except the culling of stratholme? like the battle with Mel`ganis where arthas found frostmourne? where do you see that encounter in short O.o!?!

Anyway, it’s not like he’s in a coma, it looks like he woke up with amnesia right after Arthas left the Cave, I think it’s a cool idea, it’s just too bad it’s most likely going to be an Alliance only thing.
Now I want to kill him.
Oh I get it, he had to pay any price if only to save his people, that wasn’t in killing Muradin, that was to make Arthas the Lich King, and the people will soon be saved and probably have a better life being smarter and stuff and that’s saving them (as well as preparing them to fight the other enemies that they need to fight (i.e. Kil’Jaeden)

Hmm, and also (sorry for double post) Muradin as well as Varian Wrynn (Lost King of Stormwind) have amnesia, what’s Muradin going to turn into, because with amnesia, either you bring him with you, or he become part of the Scourge, Vrykul, or anything else. 0.0 No wonder Blizz hates leaks, ruins the surprise, o well lol.
according to WC3 Arthas sacrefised Muradin so that he may take frostmourne. the fact that the power rends the soul of the user is just a side effect of using the sword. somehow Muradin survived with amnesia. we dont know why, we may know why later on that quest… and to be honest Arthas didnt save any of he’s people. when he became Deathknight he just helped to butcher them. starting with he’s own father and king of he’s “beloved” people. I dont think he made them smarter and read to Kil’Jeaden :\. Though if blizzard wont let horde participate in Muradin quest ill be very disapointed. this is vital lore point to warcraft and all that’ll be in the future. Since horde doesnt really have any lore in Northerend (not a very importent one like that anyway) it will be so unfair.

I posted a thread on the WoW WotLK forum titled ‘Mauradin Lives!!’. It was deleted within 10 minutes. Blizzard cover up!
I recently played this WC3 mission - and, Muradin WAS NOT killed here, Arthas merely shoves him away so the poor dwarf got hit on the head. Nothing retconned here, people, move along

pfft noone cares about Ner’zhul anymore. its all about arthas :P. forsaken doesnt have any special lore except that they wanna take some stupid revenge. and about thrall-coming home its a past lore that the outcome of it was allready known. it wouldnt effect future events in warcraft like the fact that Muradin is acttualy alive when till now everybody thought that Arthas killed him. in old hillsbrad you just doing quest wich allready happened in short. (Btw if there’s a payback it would be the culling of Stratholme quest. since Jaina Uther and Arthas participate in this I think this is more then enough “payback” for the lame rescue thrall quest)…

it is not a ghost, its like a orb that recorded events from the past or something of this sort. (last pic) And it says “Muradin lives!” So for those who are trying to prove us wrong, (unless this is just a rumor which is hard to fake since it is very well done) all facts are in pics. All that is unknown right now is where Muradin is? A prisoner of the scourge or someone else’s? Lost in the mountains? Or among the Iron dwarfs? I don’t know myself, but we shall see!

serious retcon action going on, arthas even sent the body back to IF aparently maybe they will pretend that the dwarves were drunk and accidently sent one of the other dead dwarves lying around the cavern instead. Awesome news but QQable retcon.
Send the body back? How on earth did he do that considering he burned all their boats? And even in WC3, he just left Muradin there and moved on.
The Muradin in the last picture is NOT a ghost. Notice how Arthas is also transparent in some of the pics…! As mentioned above, the scenes shown in the screenshots are likely to only be images of what happened in the cave years ago, and we get to witness but not interfere with it in WotLK. I’m not saying this is all true, but it’s a good assumtion.
Now in the last picture where Muradin has amnesia, we don’t know if that took place moments after Arthas left the cave with Frostmourne or if it happened in a more recent time. I’m sure we’ll know once more of the quest has been revealed.
They could have done a better job on Muradins modell, tbh. :/
Arthas didn’t sacrafice Muradin for the blade. When Frostmounre broke out of the ice, The ice impaled Muradin
I just watched the scene. There was no “impaling” going on.
A large piece of the ice Frostmourne was encased in smacked him over the head.
When Arthas said he was dead, he probably didn’t really give a damn either way. He just wanted to get on with his revenge.
possibly payback for a large chunk of lore that only horde are directly privy to, concerning the Naaru, void walkers, and Ashbringer connections.

Huh? Naaru and Ashbringer Horde lore? Oh you mean the Naaru YOUR new race brought in to the WoW universe? A bunch of retcons and new lore because you get some new race, I mean the Draenei. We got the Thrall-Comes-Home questline, indeed, but that wasn’t as important to lore as this.
