Here is a Juicy Rumor for You, Death Knight’s Before WotLK?
There is a post on the WotLKWiki.info forums where a link and quote is presented that states DK’s will come before the expansion! Here is the catch and good reason why it all could be a glorified rumor, the link to the original Official Forums post is now gone, meaning the CM’s nuked it. Take a look:
The announcement is that Deathknights are going LIVE in a patch in early fall, playable for those who pre order through their online store (and select retailers)! You’ll still need the expansion to level to 80, but the intent is to give those customers a chance to level their Deathknight to the current level cap so they’ll be able to play with friends on launch day. This is their solution to “4 million Deathknights looking for healer” on launch day, and also gives players a little more content to hold them over until the full launch.
What the original poster of this, alleged, post is referring to is the fact that on release day a majority of people will want to play as a Death Knight and completely ignore the new content. That and the people that want to play in the new content may be short handed due to all the people playing Death Knights. What better way to ease the strain on DK starting areas and new content playability than to release DK’s with the 3.0 patch. Also, with all we have learned from the F&F Alpha they have worked mostly on Death Knights, even completely ignoring other classes. Maybe they are in a rush to release them? Maybe the eyes that are glowing out of the ice on the Blizzard.com website are those of a DK bout to break out and invade a 3.0 patch soon!
Forget Diablo3! Forget about any new game, hell I dont even care about a release date, JUST GIVE US DEATH KNIGHTS EARLY!
I saw that original post on the General Forums, and it seemed like an obvious troll to me. Kinda like World of Stariablo — just a thought.
Yeah I’d say it 99.9% is a troll and just a rumor. BUT, you have to admit it is a good idea and would solve a lot of the problems with releasing a new class and new content at the same time.
I would certainly love to see it happen =)
Also the Blizzard dude (is it Mike Morhaim or something like that?) said specifically in an interview that they are announcing a new title this weekend; I can’t imagine they would use this splash frenzy hype for anything besides that.

Yeah, no.
Not real at all. There were rumors of this for TBC as well. “Oh, you’re going to be able to start a BE Pally or Draenei Shammy in Durotar/Elwynn so that the Horde/Alliance isn’t behind in leveling them”.
It didn’t happen. It won’t happen. Stop making silly assumptions – the DK area is instanced just like Eversong/Azuremyst, and the quests there will supposedly train you on how to use your abilities. They’re not going to release that to the general public for free.
DKs are WOTLK only. Just like Belfs/Draenei are TBC only.
If you read the article you would see where you would have to preorder the expansion in order to play a DK early. So who is making silly assumptions? Rumor, Fake? Probably, whats wrong with having fun and dreaming?
oh and DeathKnight.info is a Death Knight class site, don’t think many of the geniuses around here would need to know that DK’s are WotLK only.
Stupid idea if this is true. Instead of a couple of % that will level a DK when the expansion comes. EVERYONE is gonna level one at patch 3.0.
The point you’re forgetting is that everyone who does NOT want to play a DK on launch day will want to go for level 71 instead. If the DK’s don’t go live until the rest of the expansion does, people who are bent on playing them will voluntarily remove themselves from Northrend to go play in level 55-70 content. If DK’s go live sooner, all the serious DK’s will already be level 70, waiting at the Stormwind harbor with everyone else.
Why would Blizzard deliberately make a change that results in MORE launch day congestion in Northrend, when they’ve already designed the whole continent around offering two level 70-72 zones?
Can you please stop posting crap that has no merits. It’s one thing to post leaked information that is only available because an insider gives it to you, but these speculations without any actual merit should not end up in the main page as news, they’re not real they’re not news.
Between this shit,and the last “joke” about leaked last teaser image, you just lost huge chunk of your credibility, I wonder if I bother to check this site often if this is where you’re heading.

Kenzi, I’ve been here since the beginning, it’s not the site that I don’t like, it’s the recent departure from being highly informative to be cheap gossip column. This site offers excellent information about Death Knights, which will be my future main character. There’s plenty of other venues out there posting garbage rumors, why not keep this site informative and clean.
And thanks for all the good tidbits thus far, keep it up. :)
Thanks for being here trulez, and whether or not we agree, I value your opinion. That said, there are going to be, have been, and we even lack more of the softer side of gaming. “Garbage Rumors” ? That’s a bit over the top wouldn’t you think? Rumor yes, but point out what part of DK’s being released early wouldn’t be viable. Now, let me start a post that said “World of Warcraft to merge with World of Starcraft in the biggest MMO in history” now that would be garbage and your outrage would be merited. It’s a game and a website about a game, I’m going to have some fun at some point.
That said. You will never be belittled or cut down for having an opinion here, nor will you have my opinion shoved down your throat. You can take that for what it’s worth too.
Kenzi very clearly identified this as a rumor in his post… there is hardly a question of credibility here.
As for the rumor itself, I think it’s a fantastic idea, and even if there’s no truth to it at all, I’m glad Kenzi posted it, because I hope Blizzard sees how much everyone likes the idea. You never know…

I can tell you this… 51 point talents will be available before expansion comes out.
Do you know the retail price of the Death Knight realese? Or can you just download it like a patch when you log onto WoW. And I’ve been trying to find a website to respawnd but when you create a DK can you delete it and make another?
nah bad idea. you roll em out early and 99% of people have nothing better to do at this point than make a DK. Roll em out in expansionand you are still gonna have most people leveling there mains therefore less DK. The last thing Blizz wants is 90% of servers’s seeing how cool DK is and changing mains.
