This seems to be another early quest line that has you dealing with Arthas. Any question you may have you can ask in this thread.

Will be an intresting story. And these pictures sure creates many questions… Who is Thassarian? Who is the Lich, Tanathal? Who is the skeleton warrior, Lurid? And what do Thassarian want to know from the lich? Who is this Prince Valanar?
And what on earth is the San’layn?

Also, one of the images is the first clue of what a Darkfallen might be. Just looks to be an undead elf…I gues we will learn more when it shows up on the official page.

here is a picture of an updated Darkfallen http://www.wowwiki.com/Image:Prince_Valanar.jpg
His name is Prince Valanar and he is one of the quest givers in the Death Knight Starting Zone

To evaluate some questions Thassarian is the “first” Alliance Death Knight,or in other words he’s friendly to Alliance players, sorry Horde :(

Anyway theres several quests for Alliance involving Thassarian. About Lurid. Lurid appears to be Thassarian’s Summoned Minion, much how like player DK’s will have summoned Ghouls. Tanathal and Isidorus are obviously captive and Thassarian wants information. Thassarians location is right across from Enkilah so it probally has something to do with that. The San’layn are a sect of renegade High Elves who serve the Lich King. The Members of said faction are blood thirsty Darkfallen,a cross between an Elf and a Vampire, they craze living flesh. Prince Valanar is a NPC in the Death Knight starting area who’s friendly and gives out quests. In present time Valanar is evil. Well hope that clears it up a bit.

The “Image of Arthas” looks rather chunky and stupid. His armor is to big, he is too short, his hands and feet are too thick, and his face looks incredibly unrealistic, especially for this expansion which is supposed to have imporved graphics. I hope this is not how the actual lich king will look when you fight with him, for I think that that will be dissapointing for many players.

[Spoiler] You actually meet Thassarian way before Northrend if you play a Death Knight, apparantly, he and Bloodbane are holed up in a Scarlet Inn at some point in the starter area. There he already shows honor dispite being still a minion of the Scourge, by calling all the other Death Knights his “brothers & sisters”. He even gives you a quest to save a Death Knight from the Scarlets. Seems Thassarian was the first one to return to the Alliance after the events of Light’s Hope yet they still send him on a suicide mission in Northrend (wich obviously failed). [End Spoiler]

I don’t get it. How can a death knight who works for the Scourge be friendly with the Alliance or the Horde? When Arthas became a death knight all the Humans shunned and fought him. How can a minion of the lich king enter stormwind and not get attacked? It just doesn’t make sense. Are there going to be dk trainers in every city? The lich king has people in the midst of his enemies?
Or maybe they’re all undercover and spies?

    @ Haseth:

Well, Death Knight are friendly, and when you get out of the last chain quest, you somehow appear later in time, in LHC, but a bit later in time, 6 months possibly. The Alliance is already friendly with Death Knights, Darion Mograine and/or Tirion Fordring must’ve convinced the Alliance that they are no longer evil… (although Forsaken did the same sort of and they got attacked hmm…)

I’m sure the Alliance still shows some prejudice.
Like if you ask for a Death Knight trainer, they’ll be like
“Oh, you’re one of them… *whisper* damn bastards, I don’t trust em.* The Death Knight trainer is in [location here].

They do the same with Warlocks hehe.

  • Bigstackstwo said:

Another example of that they appear later in time could be if you go to Ebon Hold without using Death Gate… it’s pretty corrupted now. lol

  • Ban-Lord said:

Oh and, I highly doubt there will be ANY death knight trainers anywhere other than Ebon Hold, since there is no need to be any other trainers.
