New Jayde Video Exposes DK PvP Issues
After the last Jayde PvP video it was clear you guys where butt hurt over seeing someone get ganked while fighting a mob. I’m not hashing out another PvP debate, you can do that in the forums, but I do want to give more spotlight to an issue that Jayde brought out in a recent beta forum post as well as another video showing the issues.
Before you guys start the crying again keep in mind that this video is not a complaint that he can’t kill a season 3 geared Warlock. It was made to expose some very serious PvP flaws with the Death Knight class in its current state. The issues?
- The complete lack of mobility, we’re the easiest kited class in beta.
- Anti-Magic Shell is damn near useless. (see his list of problems with AMS here)
- Lichborne cooldown is too long.
- Rune masteries are dispellable.

He’s got a few good points there. I’d expect to see a few changes soon. That’s what beta testing is for, and it’s good to see people actually testing and giving feedback, most of the time are just in a beta so they can play before everyone else.

Did you even pay attention to the issue there, captain? People weren’t ‘butthurt’ over him ganking some one. That happens all the time, and any one who wears a PvP flag for any length of time is going to be used to it. No, the issue was trying to pass it off as a ‘PvP’ video when all he was doing was ambushing and killing surprised people who didn’t have much of a chance to fight back. That’s a pretty fair complaint when your saying one thing, but the video you get is another.
As for his complaints, several are valid, but a lack of mobility isn’t one of them. With both death grip and chains of ice there is plenty of mobility. And as far as that goes, do you want this to be a god class, or a balanced class?
I wonder if using a Ghoul would have done anything. . . they have a stun and a spell interrupt and diseases and stuff. Perhaps he could try again and see how a Ghoul affects things.

@ Palladiamors: So killing your opponent when they are weak isn’t PvP? He was never trying to say he was WTFPWNING people, I believe his words where “DK in a PVP environment”. Sorry if you don’t think ganking is PvP. Bottom line is until his first video we had seen little to none of a DK vs another PC period. Stop acting butt hurt and I won’t call you butt hurt.

I think until you scrubs either get picked via opt-in or buy a beta key off ebay for $400 bucks, load up WotLK and start making your own videos, then your critisizm is pretty much unfounded. I think you should be a little more thankful that Jayde is taking the time to show us all something we normally wouldn’t get to see.

My only beef here is she is unholy and in PvE gear while the lock is in Full blown S3.
I do see his points in the skill problems, but i just hope he choses a more PvP oriented build other then Unholy next time ^_^

If I wasn’t mistaken, that chap had his anti-magic shell dispelled by the lock’s felhunter. Call me crazy, but how is an anti-magic effect supposed to be able to be dispelled? It’s anti-magic no?
what is the spell that appears over the warlocks head? the one that has a demon-head animation.
This guy is a total and a noob, from hereon I will refer to him as fucktard.
I’m gonna be a DK when the game comes out, and all this video shows me is that DKs are actually more powerful than other classes.
Fucktard says he has no snares, in fact he has:
- “chains of ice”
- frost talent
- death grip
With the following, it means around 60-70% of the time a non-frost specced DK will have their target either anti-intercepted towards them or be frozen/snared. In fact in the video he demonstrated HIMSELF, he kept the lock under melee for 80% of the time.
Furthermore deathgrip have exponential group utility because unlike intercept, when you pull a target your entire group can dps it.
Fucktard says problems against magic:
- Anti-magic shield
- anti-magic zone
- mind freeze
- strangulate
Using these, he can nullify a HUGE chunk of a casters damage.
He complains that strangulate has 30sec cooldown, he doesnt mention that all other classes have 20-30cd on THEIR interrupts as well AND a DK GETS 3 OTHER ANTI-CASTER abilities.
Fucktard thinks that he is somehow entitled by god to be able to counter every single fucking spell casters throw at him - he complains because a few spells hit him.

fucktard complains about spells/buffs being dispelled. I think that fucktard is a warrior who’s been under the protection of kalgan so long he’s forgotten what other classes have to deal with: AKA if u don’t want your buffs/spells to be dispelled then cast anti-magic just before a spell is fired.
And if puppy is on auto-dispel then simply put a magic debuff on the lock and waste its cooldown (icy touch?)
Fucktard complains about a 5min cooldown on lichborne but doesn’t realize that some classes get 5min cooldown on their 51point talents.
All this video shows was that a DK in blues managed to get a t3 and highly skilled warlock down to 20% - I personally think that DKs could use some nerf in fact.
Fucktard does make a valid comment regarding the anti-magic-shield costing 1 unholy rune, and that since its a reactionary skill it would be strongly advisable if it would cost no runes - but rather have the cooldown as its “cost”.

But you know what? even if they don’t do that its fine because warriors not only need to keep 15range for spell reflect, but they also need to equip a shield! And DKs get strangulate with doesn’t cost and runes anyway so I’m guessing having 2 of those abilities would mean spellcasters won’t stand a chance. Methinks DKs are spoilt.
In all, I’d say I’m VERY disappointed with this guys videos - I love deathknight.info and was one of the first people who posted in their forums when the site was created and have still managed to view with website once every 2 days.
I’m gonna be writing a complaint to the site created to have this guy’s blogs removed as they’re pretty much thoughtless dribble written by someone who greatly exaggerates his skills and thinks he is entitled to have a “dream” characted with all skills and abilities rather than a balanced one.

You completely ignored my first point, he has brain damage and thinks his character is “hawt” like the majority of 12 year old alliance rerolls. By the way the last time i checked this is the real world, typical nerd using phrases like “IRL”
