8820 Death Knight PvP Gear

MMO-Champion has dug up what appears to be our Lake Wintergrasp PvP set. The set, and other gear, is purchased with honor at the moment, but it is unknown if it will remain that way.

  4. As DKgnomeDK said, it is Beta, none of this is probably the finalized version. There’ll probably be plenty of tweaks to it.

  5. Um because
    A) its still early beta gear

    B)because the gem color differences and the stat bonus differences do make them different

    C)The legs and chest aren’t even the Epic PvP, just the Blue and so a lot more beta to go for setting final stats for both blue and purple sets

    D)(just incase you didn’t pick up the hint) its BETA stats are not set in stone yet, they are doing trial and error with the gear to get it right.

But it does show what they are going for as for stm though, the current epic warrior PvP set (well last seasons anyway) without enchants or gems being in all epic the bonus is 603 stm, this blue (not even epic) set with blue neck,cloak,rings etc without enchants or gems is 1089 which is nearly double being 486 higher without even being the epic set with epic rings and what not. So just in that alone not including enchants and gems your looking at gaining 4,860 health going from epic gear down to rare gear if they don’t tweak the gear to much.

  7. Only issue I see is we’re having 4 stats only. Stam, Str, Crit and Resi, meaning we’ll get less stat points than the warrior set which will have the same plus Armor Pen. That’s how items work, a “Crappy Greeny of Strenght” has less points than a “Crappy Greeny of the Bandit”.

    But hey, it’s Beta, so who gives a damn anyway :)

  10. Hrm? I dunno… but a big part of a DK’s arsenal are spells right? And alot of the melee oriented “spells” have sorta spell-like damage no? So… where’s all the Spell Power boosts? Haven’t seen too much of that any any DK specific gear yet, even if it is still Beta. =/

  11. well … Chaos … the spell pwr comes from AP … so DKs don’t need +spell pwr gear … simple thing …
    and abilities that don’t scale spell pwr with AP … it’s because the +dmg comes from the 60-100% weapon dmg …

  13. well mabey what there doin is just testin out the stats, thats it…its beta so they wont wana give away what the armor will ACTUALLY look like when WotLK is released. just my opinion though =D

  14. “well … Chaos … the spell pwr comes from AP … so DKs don’t need +spell pwr gear … simple thing …” … yes I noticed this, I also noticed it looks like paladin spells are changing the same way also which is a good and bad thing at the same time.
    Good Thing:
    1)Tank Paladins will no longer need to choose between argo gear (+spell damage to help increase Pali argo) and traditional tanking gear (+stm +agi etc)
    Bad (but at same time good) thing:
    1)+Spell power plate will probably be that much rarer since it is droping down from 2 talent trees needing it to just healidins is the bad thing, but the good thing is atleast now if their is a healidin and a tankadin in a instance they no longer have to fight over the already rare +spell power gear, the healidins will now get the spell power gear and the tankidins will have to roll with the warriors and DKs.

    (summing that up, less healing plate but now holy paladin “garentied” to get it rather then having to roll against a prot paladin and prot having to roll against 2 other classes now but atleast that type of plate drops a ton more frequently)

    (summing the summation: holy gear drop% goes down but chance to get it goes up significantly, prot gear drop% goes up but chance to get it when it drops goes down)

  16. imo, I think this armor is just a placeholder for the armor they will make later. Because, they haven’t really made all of the arena gear yet you know.
