  • dailywarhammer said:

Almost makes me feel ashamed to play WAR :(

  • goatman said:

i saw it coming as in the forsaken thing when u choose an undead character select it says in the discription that they have joined the horde for the MEANTIME untill they have the chance to get the revenge, well not exactly that but bassicly thats what it says but this is way better than the wotlk cenimatic and probably blizzard making up for it, freakin awesome.

i wonder what is going to happen to the forsaken and if they will still be a horde faction

  • goatman said:

sorry ment to say still be a horde race*

  • Seren said:

Love the pink haired gnome they shoved in the background.

    Great vid.

  • goatman said:

also theres another quest to help sylvanas save the undercity because varimathras or w/e his name his betrays her

  • Dark Might said:

The Forsaken do not portray the Horde. Only Varimathras and the apothacary Putris betray the Horde and Alliance. Lady Sylvanas Windrunner, leader of the Forsaken, is still loyal to the Horde. In the quests that follow this event, Sylvanas and Thrall fight with you to retake the Undercity. So no, the Forsaken do not leave the Horde. The Undercity, however, is temporarily taken from the Horde-loyal Forsaken.

  • Dark Might said:

Meant to say “The Forsaken do not betray the Horde.”

  • Thanatos said:

oh good because if this was showing what all the forsaken were doing then yeah they would have to be out of the horde…

the only thing is, i’m pretty sure through out all the forsaken quest lines, they repeatedly say they are planning to unleash a plague to kill both scourge and all living so that only forsaken will exist…

so why would sylvannas not be going along with that when she’s the one who commitioned it?… change of heart or something?

oh and im glad they fixed the lich king’s voice so that it has arthas and nerzhul speaking instead of that weird one during the orgrimmar/sw event…

  • Voidbringer said:

I, having done the horde side of these quests including the Battle for the Undercity, do not believe Sylvanas being innocent in all this. She was the one who commissioned the creation of a new plague, and she is far too clever to leave it solely in the hands of a DREADLORD.

I believe that she orchestrated this entire plan as a means to her own end. Either that, or she is uncharacteristically stupid.

  • Dariex said:

In a technicality ( have no idea how to spell that) Sylvanas definately wants revenge against Arthas and the Scourge, but, the Forsaken that were using the catapults were from the Apothicarium ( probably mispelled that too). so if the Demon and Apothicary turn on the Forsaken then it would explain a little more and mean the Forsaken are still loyal to the Horde.

The vid was just epic and I got chills from watching it… Can’t wait…

  • Banthalos said:

    WOOT awesome vid!!
the only thing i didnt like was seeing Arthas retreating and he seemed like we was feeling “pain” from that green poison…
c’mon he is THE lich king (some ppl like calling him l33t king) he cant feel any sort of pain like that
    ARTHAS FTW! =D

  • goatman said:

then why did arthas say “sylvanas” when he saw the forsaken people up there?

  • ChaosHaven said:

As arthas would say it, yet less sarcastic… “Touching…”

    My mirror to this video.

  • Radenska said:

That was freaking awesome. What a twist and depressing end to an act.

  • unchecked said:

Once watching the video it wasn’t that big a spoiler. Until now we all know the Apothecary’s plague isn’t finished/stable, and Sylvannas never cared who else goes down along with the Scourge.

The biggest spoiler is that the plague’s near completion and the Aspects don’t like it.

  • poopoohead said:

I thought the lich king is suposed to be all knowing.

  • Zenthas said:

Who is that Forsaken that said “you think we had forgotten, you think we had forgiven?” It, for a lack of a better term, sounds male…

    Damn that was way cool

  • Mumpley said:

    @Zenthas.

The guys name is Grand Apothecary Putress. Head of the Royal Apothecary Society.

Only him and his Blight Lackey’s betrayed the Horde though, not the entire Forsaken. On a side note also this vid leads up to an epic quest involving you taking back Undercity from Demons and Apothecarians with Thrall and Sylvannas. For Alliance you help King Varian Wrynn along with Lady Jaina Proudmoore.

If you payed attention to a quest in the late 30’s called Nothing But The Truth it tells of “The Apothecarium leading the Horde in a wrong direction…” or something like that.

    FOR THE FORSAKEN!

that would be even more awsom

O.O Wow… just WOW. I always figured the Apothecaries were up to no good. I’ve heard of an epic battle for the Undercity ((http://www.wowwiki.com/Quest:The_Battle_For_The_Undercity_(Horde) (http://www.wowwiki.com/Quest:The_Battle_For_The_Undercity_(Alliance)). But this is amazing. The quality, the drama…and to see Saurfang’s son die is heartbreaking. Thank you for uploading this.

  • HarrySpanner said:

um. is this even real? looks exactly like the battle at the gates of mordor in rotk, especially with the dragons (eagles) flying in. aaand what’s with garosh getting axed so early?

  • Balaneo said:

OMG THIS VIDEO MAKES ME SCREAM FOR WOTLK!! but btw did Frostmourne absorbe the orc warlords/leaders soul? i never heard that Frostmourne drained someones soul o.o .. i knew it was legendary uber freaking epic awesome!! this look gave me a creep .. but OMG I CANT WAIT FOR WOTLK!! >_<

  • Grady said:

    @HarrySpanner
Was that Garosh? I figured it was Sarafang Jr. seeing how he had daddy’s might gear on.

  • HarrySpanner said:

    @Grady

not sure now that you mention it. i assumed it was garosh since he and Tirion are the respective leaders of the horde and the alliance in northrend and that would be their big moment together, and tirion seemed to know him. also, garosh has red skin like the orc in the video

  • goatman said:

the orc leader was saurfang THE YOUNGER, his son or something

  • @Jmav said:

Just wanted to point out – Some people seem to be under the impression that the guy in that video was Tirion Fordring. Its actually not him, but Bolvar Fordragon, who’s leading the alliance forces in the dragonblight. Not sure about the Orc leader, but I would presume it to be Saurfang the younger.

  • Xelios said:

Saurfang’s sonny know how to cleave, just like his father! XD
    Woooot!

I knew the Forsaken were bad news all along.

  • 8r0k3nSp1r17 said:

The orc warlord seen in this video is indeed Saurfang the Younger; our epic Saurfang’s son. The Alliance gerneral is Bolvar Fordragon. Fordragon’s death causes King Wyrnn to spout all kinds of orcish prejudices and go back on the “tenuous peace” we know of now.

  • Graxxis said:

i personally think that the Forsaken that attacked are a rogue group; broken away from slyvannas because they are unhappy with her, or the other forsaken, or the horde etc, and want to take more drastic action to gain vengance.

however… they did say that the Forsaken are constantly working on a new strain of plague (see undead quests in game) and have recently developed a perfected strain.. so maybe they will break off into a new faction??

    give wotlk.

  • Xelios said:

    @Brokenspirit:

Wow. That doesn’t make sense from a larger point of view. =O

I mean Arthas kills Saurfang and the Plague kills Fordragon.. and the Horde gets the sh*t for it? What a good king! /golfclap

  • clampy said:

Major spoiler here!!!! you have been warned!!!!

    .

    .

    .

what actually happens is, well it wasn’t lady sylvanas who set this up, it was Varimthras, the demon who resides with her, and the master apothecary dude. Varimthras and the master apothercary have overthrown sylvanas rule in the undercity and any forsaken who do not follow the new rule have been butchered bar a few suvivors, who escape to orgrimmar. The game continues after this point in the video, from the horde side anyway, where you have to retrieve saurfang’s armour and return it to his father in warsong hold, who you explain to about whats happened. A portal is summoned so you can take this urgent news to thrall in orgrimmar. This is where the clever part kicks in. At this point in the game orgrimmar has been instanced so people who arent on the quest dont suffer. When you arive you fins lots of forsaken refugees entering the city. Once you enter orgrimmar you’ll see more refugees and a lot of horde protestors asking why the forsaken are there etc. All services are shut down in the city so there is nothing more to do than go take the message to thrall. You arrive in thralls chamber which has beefed p security. You find sylvanas at the throne alongside thrall while col’jin is missing. You go turn the quest into thrall and a conversation ensues where sylvanas reveals they have been betrayed. Suddenly a portal appears in the middle of the room and that nosey jaina proudmoore appears basically asking “what the %^&* is going on?” thall and co explain and proudmoore mentions ujiba wrynn (big king) getting rather narked at the horde and saying he will declare war over the loss of bolvare. etc etc.
Now the interesting bit, after this conversation thrall talks plans over with you to reclaim the undercity, and you’re aprt of those plans. So through another portal you go this time to undercity where you find it under seige by horde forces, with vol’jin, sylvanas and thrall at the helm. after a few exchanged words and volleys of artillery the attack proceeds as planned and you get to spend the rest of the day kicking ass in undercity alongside the 3 leaders getting all their unique bufs etc as well as getting the chance to watch them in action. after several large bouts with a load of apothecaries and undead constructs you work your way thru the city and after a few obstacles thrall helps you overcome you reach the royal quarter where you get the chance to finally slap that bitch varimthras. yada yada long fite alls good city reclaimed in the end. woop!

    or is it?

A short period after the fight you hear a rumbling coming from the corridor leading to the royal quarter room. Alliance! king ujiba wrynn and his elite bodyguard cavalry unit has come to kill the horde leaders (wheres cairne in all of this? lazy bugger) and you start to fight him ans his bodyguards. Yay fun fun, until nosey buggr proudmoore turns up agen freezing everyone and teleportin the alliance back to stormwind to relieve the fighting. She mentions that shell talk with ujiba wrynn and that she is thankful that the issue ahs been resolved. she goes, saurfang senior appears and him and thrall have a chat sat on some steps. antoehr portal and you are returned to the comfort of warsong hold to reclaim your award for your galantry.

With this blizz introduce their “phasing system” i thgink its called where players can see different things depending on what tneyve done. in this case thosewho have done this quest chain will not find varimthras next to sylvanas in the fuftre, whole stood next to them can be another player who can see him…howeva that works…neways yer so all fun fun fun and I cant wait :P

  • Wrathis said:

Well something is nagging at my mind here, i think that the two factions in dalaran will be the apocatheriam and then the Red dragonflight. Just saying <3

  • Kyle said:

im not a big WoW advocate and ive only played short stints here and there. But that made me absolutely proud to be a member of the forsaken during my tenure within the game.

Ill give one thing to Blizzard, they know how to make an epic cinematic, even with the constrictions within their own engine.

    Bravo.
