There Are No Limits. Death Knight Solos Ragnaros and Doomwalker
It won’t be long before we see all raid content preWotLK soloed. Granted there are tons of encounters that are just impossible to solo due to scripts and boss abilities, but as gear gets better and more people get it, there will be tons more like what I’m about to show you.
Mionelol from EU Illidan sent word of more limits being pushed. Not only did she tackle all of Molten Core, including Ragnaros, she also soloed a TBC raid encounter in Doomwalker!
517 Gold! Cha-Ching! and some BoE epics to boot…
Mionelol said she had 200+ fire resist for the Ragnaros fight which lasted 22 minutes!

I’ve never fought Doomwalker, not sure how that fight works. I’d imagine that to be one hell of an intensive fight, though!
Using an Unholy PvP / DPS build in a couple epics and mainly blue DPS gear I’ve managed to pretty simply conqueor all of:
MC minus Domo and Rag (due to access)
AQ20 (Buru was a bitch, and that wasp boss was a bore for the first 30%)
ZG minus Thekal (though I think I can get this if I spread out the DPS opposed to focusing down Kahn, meanwhile interrupting his heals when needed), Ghaz (due to access), and EoM (due to access)
I got the first boss in AQ40 to 25% with 0 Nature Resist after quite a few tries. I haven’t been in there since, but I think I’d be able to take him on now after getting a bit more experienced in solo’ing content. AQ40 was my first solo attempt zone for the red mount.
I’m going to start making videos showing How-To’s on avoiding trash, killing bosses, and gear / talent choices. I’ll keep DKInfo (the best source for everything DK!) posted
I tried soloing Doom Lord Kazzak once myself, and the incoming damage was more than manageable. However I found that he casts a twisted reflection magical debuff on you, which causes him to be healed for 25k every time he hits you. That put a very quick end to my soloing plans. I imagine it would be very simple to 2-man it with a paladin or priest.
I have solo’d Onyxia and Azuregos so far. I was planning on tackling ZG when I had some time. I tried one of the Emerald dragons, and the breath debuff that increases cooldowns was killer.
Can any1 tell me what addonns does she use?
After seeing these news I just had to take a shot at Doomwalker, tried him with my I-take-em-all-Unholy Specc..worked pretty well, but his frenzy at 20% killed me, because he has some crazy spike dmg, if you get just a bit unlucky with the RNG.
So I tried him again, this time as Blood, the fight took years and without bone shield it was even worse, especially when diseases were about to drop of or when certain runes/skills were on CD. I had a few near misses even before 20% and thought it’s not going to work, but everytime I could recover.
Then I reached the magic 20% and the dance began..one skill after another went on CD..health dropped from 100% to 50% in seconds, and back up again. At 5% it became a nightmare, everything on CD, diseases low, bad rune combinations and health WAY below 30%..I’ve seen myself already at the spirit healer..then DS critted, only to take another hit, a few seconds more..finally Rune Tap ready..it took another 3 mins until the fight was over..
I don’t think that I will do it any time soon again..way to nerve wrecking. xD But it’s a truely epic fight and very rewarding to see those 495g in the loot window.. (well..I won’t bitch about the 22g less that I got xD)
But the best thing about it is, when you tell it to your friends.. “you did WHAT?!” ^^
Nienordir, can you give out some details on your stats? I would like to try him out since I am also blood specced tank.

I also used an Unholy Spec for nearly every boss I came across simply because I love Unholy. When doing Mandokir, though, it simply wasn’t possible. And again, I was about 100 points from the defense cap using mainly warrior tanking gear (lawl shield block). By the time I spec’d Blood for Mandokir, I was about 20pts from the cap and it has made every encounter much easier. Longer, but easier. Though I hate not having my powerful AoE and 15sec DnD CD.
I found that Bone Shield isn’t nearly as helpful the collective of Mark of Blood, Bloodworms, and Vampiric Blood. Though I do miss my 100% magic immunity for 10sec through talented and glyph’d AMS.
I had around 29k HP, 24% dodge, 21% parry, 541 def (because I didn’t want to risk a crit xD)
Once you have purple Naxx10/25 tank gear, you’re good to go, but ZG/Ony works even with some blues.
From my experience its not the incoming DMG that kills you, most of the time you die because your hits fail to connect..(3x DS parries, dropped diseases, and a DS that doesn’t crit and you’re gone) That’s why I’m always wearing 1-2 pieces blue DPS-stuff to maintain the hitcap or for Doomwalker using Bufffood, because he hits quite hard. xD A bit expertise here and there doesn’t hurt either. ;)
I did everything but Doomwalker as Unholy (Ony,ZG,AQ20), Mandokir isn’t that hard just kill his Raptor first..works for me. ^^
I think a Unholy Specc with Rune Tap would work even better, but I don’t want to respecc everytime and can’t free the points, because I have threat issues. (no luck with weapon drops, while all DDs since wrath have forgotten how to use Omen xD)
My Unholy spec was something like 18/0/53. Imp Rune Tap is nice.
This must be the big difference between you being able to solo Mando as Unholy and me not being able to. I have 19.9k HP, 15% dodge, 16% parry, and well under the defense cap… hehe. Now I’m spec’d a little more along the lines of 50/14/7. Made killing Mando surprisingly simple. I still miss my Unholyness :(
With this spec I was able to clear Ony (probably could’ve done naked on my level 4 mage), ZG, and AQ20.
id solo the doom walker every time he spawns for 517g
You don’t need 540 def against mobs 7 levels lower than you so might as well get some more offensive stats to up your DPS a little.

Doomwalker is not level 73, just as Ragnaros is not level 63. They are bosses and are to be treated (as far as defense cap goes) as any boss would be treated anywhere in the game. You will need to max you defense to save yourself from unwanted crits.
I’m currently using a 52/3/16 build for soloing, currently tackled ZG/AQ20(except Ayamiss)/MC/Ony/Azuregos (Except Rag, Domo and Gehennas, access and haven’t tried gehennas cause I’m afraid of the healing debuff). What I’m wondering is, what build did Mionelol use for this? Cause I’m pretty sure it’s not the one he/she is using on armory :p
I’m actually wondering what spec you’re using, Stalake. Didn’t pick up the armor bonus in the frost tree, eh? Also, what strat did you use on the Thekal fight in ZG?
Ayamiss in AQ20 is a pain in the ass. I engaged him and unloaded my RP with Death Coils. I ran out of the room (he stays put where he flies) and gained RP and killed the wasps he sends. Once I had another 100 RP I’d unleash my Death Coils again. I’d sit there with AMS up to get more RP so I could get 3-4 DCs off instead of just two. I’d also use any RP yielding ability just to speed things up a bit. Run out of the room when you’re out of RP, heal up via Rune Tap, repeat. When he lands at 70% it’s a simple tank and spank. Just boring… heh.
@Stalake : Used a 50/14/7 build for mostly everything.
Will probably make a very detailed guide about that in the next days, I didn’t thought that so much people would pm me ingame asking stuff :3
@mionelol salutation, très impressionné par tes performances solo respectives (AQ, KZ, DOOM…)et surtout tres rassuré de voir que des DK sang autre que dps pure existe, moi même étant blood spec et la jouant même en tank. D’ailleurs la spé que j’utilise est très proche de la tienne en ayant juste switch 3pt supp en morbidité histoire d’être plus à l’aise sur l’aggro de zone (gros handicap de la spé sang tank pour ma part) et chargé la blood Aura histoire de donner un coup de pouce au raid, config de raid oblige bien sur ^^ Sinon pour le reste c’est que du pur bonheur je peux aussi bien MT qu’off tank sans parler des phases ou notre drood MT et que je peux dps en présence de sang, sans que les heals n’aient a se suer dessus.
Le seul regret voir une chance plutôt je dirais sera de pouvoir se taper respectivement dessus vu qu’on fais partie du même serveur et de faction opposé ^^ /kiss see u IG

I solod Doomwalker on my 80 dk he’s full unholy and improved rune tap I killed him 6 times and he paid for my epic hahha he’s easy on unholy maybe you guys are doing something wrong I’ll make a guide bout it….. Unholy makes dk life easier btw
i managed onyxia pretty fast. after 3 tries, my first time in there actually. airborn phase is the worst. in ZG i did only the bat boss, didn’t have any luck on mandokir. all done in frost P with a bloodspec. (51/13/7)
was tempting to go and have a look at doomwalker, but i’ms till in savage saronite gear so not rdy for those yet.
Just had to share my soloing experience here. So far I’ve conquered all of ZG and Ony and am taking a look in the way of MC/AQ20 and Doomwalker seems like the biggest challenge at this moment.
For soloing I’m using my raid dps spec/gear and then switching to frost presence. Ony hits like a wet paper towel on 25k armor and I can still put out quite a decent chunk of damage that way. The same applies for most of ZG. Bat boss is very easy with focusing on interrupting the heals, snake just falls dead after 1 minute, spider is a push-over, tiger is quite challenging but tab-targeting and a focus window + focus interrupt macro prevents the healing and some AoE means they all die at the same time. Panther is just kicks. Jin’Do and Hakkar require you to unsummon any pets you have since they’ll reset the fight but that’s basically it.
Soloing all this stuff is really fun though, and Doomwalker seems like quite the challenge. I like it…
Ive been able to kill Ony. all of MC ((had some freinds use thier waters to let me in, they didnt help me with fights though)) most of ZG and AQ20, my question to all of you, how did you beat Hakkar? I was at around 70% when he MC me, and then since there were no enemies in the area, reset and went to full, is there something you have to do? Like having someone else just stand there and heal themselfs until your out of MC? Any info would be awsome, thanks
If you have a pet out on Hakkar (Ghoul, Gargoyle, Army, Bloodworms), he will MC you and reset. He doesn’t MC when it’s only yourself.
What I’m wondering is how you guys kill Lucifron. The curse really eats my up badly…

Just as Chacarron said u cant use pets for Hakkar simply cause then he use “mc”. I soloed Hakkar 3-4 times until about 1 month ago. Last 2 weeks tries to down him he “mced” me even tho i dont use ghoul/army/worms/gargoyle. I reported it and they are currently looking at it.For now i only farm the mount bosses in zg.
Hey I got Ony down to 45% as a 75 Blood DK, Im pushing him again at 76, and i just cant seem to get him to 40%, is there any advice to defeat him as a 76, Im in great gear, but havent invested in enchanments. My biggest problem are the little dragons, I had an 80 lock come and only attack them, and i was able to pwn Ony, but I still wanna solo, (45g + 4 Blues, + an 18 slot, + The is really cool)

So far, I’ve managed to solo the following bosses on my Deathknight-
ZG, all bosses
AQ20, all bosses (though never doing ayamiss / buru again)
MC, Lucifron, Magmadar, Garr, Baron Geddon, Sulfuron Harbinger (I’ve only been here like once or twice cause both legendary bindings dropped from the same run)
BWL, Broodlord Lashlayer, Flamegor, Chromaggus, Nefarian (impossible to solo Razorgore, Vael, Firemaw and Ebonroc iirc.)
Karazhan, All bosses except Nightbane, Netherspite and Opera – Romulo & Julianne (done the other 2), haven’t tried nightbane though cause I dont have the summoning thing
TBC heroics – All of them including MgT
And just recently, Doomwalker – just simple tank&spank, save cds for 20% enrage. Took about 18min.
Doomwalker is a joke.
Soloing as a DK was never really hard, although it was easier in WotlK than it is in Cata (Not counting the level cap increase). Atleast, that is my experience.
Did these guys:
ZG: All of them including Hakkar, used my no-MC offspec for that (No bloodworms)
TOAQ: Just farmed trash for the mounts and downed first boss once.
RoAQ: Before Cata, was pretty easy although last boss took me twice (first solo attempt)
MC: Just started tying it at lvl 82, pretty easy till now exept for the Pyrolord dude packs, thanks to their small friends.
Some BC heroics including MgT: Pretty easy, even Kael’Thas was a pushover.
Doomwalker: Piece of cake at lvl 82 (He was never alive in WotlK :P)
Also solo’d some trash in random instances when my group was getting ready and i was bored. Told healer not to intervene unless i was going to die, wich didnt happen.
