Season 7 Changes to 2v2

There are a lot of changes floating around out there right now and it’s hard to keep up with all of them and what they’re going to mean for the game. But, one change that we have to point out that went live with the launch of Season 7 in the Arena is the huge revamping of the 2v2 Bracket.

This has an impact on a lot of Death Knights who may or may not have tried out 2v2 early on when they could destroy anyone in sight, but are now playing more 3v3, like the rest of the world. And while we originally heard that the 2v2 bracket might disappear altogether, that didn’t happen. So, what exactly is the deal with 2v2 in Season 7? Let’s take a look:

Instead of the original plan, which was to not let 2v2 players access any new Season 7 gear, Blizzard has responded positively(ish) to the outcry that went up and are now making it so that 2v2 can still access the current level of gear, but that they cannot buy Relentless Weapons or Shoulders and that you will not qualify for end of the season rewards unless you have a 3v3 or 5v5 rating to with your 2v2.

So, if you’re only a 2v2 player, you can kiss your 310% Relentles Gladiator Frost Wyrm and your titles goodbye. It’s unfortunate, but we’ve seen this coming for a while.
