BlizzCon wrapped up today and as expected, nothing huge was announced. That doesn’t mean, however, that the day wasn’t full of exciting news. Here is a recap using info from WoR, MMOC and WotLKWiki:

DKinfo member Bouregard has spent two days in Leipzig at the Games Convention and has posted some pictures of his experience. It appears that Blizzard shot its ”big news” wad with the WotLK cinematic release. But, what is left to announce? The release date? I’m sure they are saving that announcement for Blizzcon. I’m sure by now most of you have heard about the new refer-a-friend program that Blizzard recently announced. If you haven’t then here are a few of the details:

For every person you refer who upgrades to a retail version of WoW and purchases two months of game time, you will get a free mount for one of your character.

The 2008 Worldwide Invitational is this weekend, so does the above graphic (that is the new Blizzard.com splash screen) mean that there will be some big news or announcement in regards to WotLK? It’s hard to say, but from the looks of the image it appears to be something or someone breaking through a sheet of ice.
