More industry changing ideas where unvealed today as Blizzard announced yet another new feature, the DanceBattle System!

DanceBattle
The act of jubilant self-expression through dancing has long been an integral part of World of Warcraft’s social interactions. Now it’s been taken to a whole new level with the new Dance Battle system, coming to the game in an upcoming content patch. Combining elements of Arena competition with the dynamism and creativity of coordinated, player-controlled dance animations, Dance Battles offer a whole new kind of crew-versus-crew challenge.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

From the interdimensional fortress known as Tempest Keep, Kael’thas Sunstrider has issued a challenge far and wide to dance crews throughout Kalimdor, the Eastern Kingdoms, and Northrend — in order to find out who is Azeroth’s best dance crew!

He’s handpicked his judges from nearby Area 52 in Outland and retrofitted his flying fortress for its new purpose — to host a series of exhilarating dance-offs. He’s also relocated his fiery, faithful companion A’lar and retooled the phoenix’s chamber to accommodate the competition. It’s here that your crew will find the NPC dancemasters, who will allow you to initiate a dance-off or accept another crew’s challenge.

  

YOU’D BETTER BRING IT!

You perform dance moves using a custom interface similar to those that appear when controlling a vehicle in Wrath of the Lich King. The custom action bar displays all available dance moves, which each crew member can individually configure by speaking to the appropriate NPC before the competition.

  

Next, your crew will need to create their routine. To practice, simply select a backing track, and the music will begin after a brief countdown. The best routines are carefully planned out in advance and executed with individual skill as well as with an overall group dynamic in mind.

WARSTOP THE YARD

Once engaged in a Dance Battle, simply select the dance move you wish to perform, and your character will execute it. As with the Arena system, close communication and teamwork is crucial — you’ll have to be in sync, both with the music as well as with the other members of your crew, to become the “server” and not the “servee.”

Each crew will take turns performing, with the order randomly selected at the beginning of each dance-off. Whichever crew posts the higher score from the judges is declared the winner of the battle. At the end of the Dance Battle season, only one team will be dubbed Azeroth’s best dance crew!

In keeping with the grand tradition of innovative ideas and ground breaking game development, Blizzard announced today that the next major game change would see the ability to “customize” your mounts!

Under Development: P1mp My Mount!

Tired of your mount looking like every other raptor, wolf, horse, kodo, or nightsaber out there? Want to spice it up with some armor plating, a few spikes or chains, or maybe even some flaming decals? Then Z to the A to the zzber (whew, that’s a mouthful!) will be glad to welcome you to his shop where you can epic-ize your mount with some phat total pimpage!

Coming in a future content patch, we plan to bring you a new feature that will allow you to alter the color, the armor, or add decorations to your in-game mounts. Simply drop in to Zazzber’s Local Fix-’Er-Up, pay a small fee, and leave your mount there overnight. The next morning, you’ll pick up a mount that is uniquely yours!

The Epic Pimpage

The process of pimping your tired old mount is quite simple. Drop by Zazzber’s local Fix-’Er-Up (available in Orgrimmar, Ironforge, and Dalaran with a very special PvP-oriented shop over in the phrigid lands of Wintergrasp) and talk to our resident mount pimp, Zazzber or his high-tech redneck assistant Janie Sue and, for a small fee, they’ll overhaul your hauler, tricking your tired old vehicle out into something worthy of the Achievement “Pimp My Mount.”

  

Corpse Explosion has to be one of, if not the, funnest spells in the game. It used to be a mediocre talent, but 3.0.8 gave it some much needed love. Now, mixed with a Glyph of Corpse Explosion, CE is full of meat and win. There is nothing like  pulling half a dozen mobs and coming out with piles of meat and flesh.

I wanted to take my Reign of Terror on tour. My goal? Blow up all the bosses in Naxxramas. It was mostly a doable feat. There where technical limitations, obvioulsy I can’t blow up a chest on Four Horsemen, and some screenshots I just flat out thought I got them and didn’t. Either way, my destruction was thoroughly documented in the  SS’s below. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed sling’n meat around…
