Due to how Unholy does the bulk of its damage, unholy is very gear forgiven.  So if you don't have good enough gear, Blood and Frost is out of reach for you.  However, the drawback being that Unholy tank has the least amount of stamina (Blood) and survivability (Frost).

Yeah, Unholy's bonus is Bone Shield being the best of the three CDs, while it sacrifices having no real base reduction.

Though, at times having better CDs outweighs the average damage intake being higher.

Maybe I'm being too humble but I didn't mean to suggest that my gear isn't that great.   I'm in all 226+ level gear except for the trinkets and a good amount of 232 and 245.  I just meant perhaps the stats I have are somehow favoring Unholy.  Although I swore I had the same results on the premade DK.

I mention it because I'm curious is anyone has done any better testing on the PTR using the various specs.

I only did the testing against the level 82 elites in Icecrown though.  I thought it would be a reasonable test since I'd live long enough and Rune Strike could proc.

If I get some time, I'll check it out more.

Hey everyone. I need some advice again concerning DW tanking!

What runeforge enchants are people using when DW tanking? Does it depend on the speed of the weapon?

For reference, I'm planning on using a slow dps MH and a fast tanking OH. What runechant should I use on each?

From where I'm standing I could go double +2% parry, double nerubian, or some combination of tps and survival. Anyone got any idea on which would be best, or is it really just preference?

I've not had any problems with threat with my ulduar 2H against TotC25 geared dps, so I guess I could even consider 2 fast tanking weapons of ICC iLvl, possibly with double survival runechants. Might require that I do some messing around to see what balance between tps and survival is best for me. Anyone think that would be a bad idea?

Thanks for any advice or comments you can give ^^.

Edit: I'm a mix of ulduar and triumph badge gear and can afford to lose gargoyle: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Genjuros&n=Plagu%C3%A9

Generally, Nerubian wins because it's more stamina.

My rule is to go with survival first, then only bias to threat if you've become a DPS ceiling for your raid. If you've had no problem with threat, then it makes sense to go 2x Nerubian.

With Threat of Thasarrian, and rune strike, has anyone checked their log or know for sure: does it replace the next melee strike of both your MH and OH weapons? I recall Splug commenting that on PTR, it had some odd behaviour, but can't find the thread or facts now.

I observed only MH AND OH. Nothing out of the order.

But  i also watched that, if i miss with one hand while striking (mainly obliterate) and the other connects, i get the runes refunded. Like both hands miss/dodge/parry.
Maybe i am out of date but that was new to me Wink

I know I've seen Rune Strike connect with both weapons.

Moved to the talen spec forum since it is technically only one spec, and to clear some room at the top of the main forum page.
